FAQ
Answers about five-minute video dates: who you can match with, whether your yes or no stays private, safety, and deleting your account.
How long is a date? Five minutes on video, then you each say yes or no, then the reveal. Start to finish it is under ten minutes — you can do one on a Tuesday evening without clearing your night.
Who can I match with? Anyone dating in the US who fits your gender, who you want to meet, and your age range — and who you fit for them, in both directions. Distance and your top three dealbreakers are Premium filters, and Premium is coming soon.
Do other people see my Yes / No? No. Your answer is private and stays private unless you both said yes. Nobody is ever shown that they were said no to — the server will not send that, not just the screen.
Can I change my Yes / No after a date? Any time during the verdict window. Once it closes your answer is locked. Premium, coming soon, will let you turn a no into a yes afterwards.
What happens if they say no? Nothing is announced and nobody is told they were turned down. You can go straight back and date again — there is no daily limit.
What is the Dating Pool? A second way to meet. Switch your card to Public and people you would match with can find it and ask you on a date, with a short note if they like. Say yes and you send the times you are free; they pick one; at that time a room opens for just the two of you. The same five-minute video date, booked ahead.
Who can see my card in the Dating Pool? Only people you would match with, in both directions — the same rules as Start Dating. Your card is Private until you switch it to Public on your profile, and you can switch it back any time. Your contact details are never shown.
How many dates can I request in the Dating Pool? Five a week, counted over the last seven days. A request nobody answers gives you your request back; a no does not. Premium, coming soon, will raise it to fifteen. A no is never announced: the request simply reads "not this time".
What if I miss a Dating Pool date? The room opens ten minutes before your time and waits ten minutes after. If either of you does not arrive, the date is gone for good, and the two of you will not see each other in the Pool again. Plans change: either of you can cancel up to two hours before.
Can I record or screenshot the dates? No. Recording another participant without consent is grounds for immediate removal and may carry legal exposure. The platform also blacks out the screen if it detects screen-recording attempts.
How do I cancel my Premium subscription? Open Your profile and cancel from the Subscription panel. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period; you keep Premium access until then. Residents of California and 11 other US states get a 3-business-day cooling-off cancellation.
How do I delete my account? Settings → Delete Account. Your profile, photos, quiz answers, and notes are wiped. A small amount of data is retained for 3 months for safety investigations and longer for tax / legal compliance — see the Privacy page.
What if someone harasses me or breaks the rules? Report them from their profile menu. Reports go to moderators and are reviewed promptly. Severe violations result in immediate bans.
Why was I asked for camera and microphone permissions? Dates happen on live video. You must allow camera and microphone access to participate. We release the streams the moment you leave the experience arc, so the browser indicator turns off.
Where is Love at First Site available? We are open across the US. You can be matched with anyone dating in the US who fits your age range and who you want to meet; the closest people are put in front of you first when they are there.
How do I contact you? One inbox and a real person reads it. Email admin@loveatfirstsite.app for anything — account, camera, cancellations, safety reports, privacy requests, legal notices, press, partnerships.
